Back to Live Dealer

That dealer change completely killed the vibe

I was on a live blackjack table for about 40 minutes last night with the same dealer. There were 4 players and the hands moved along pretty quick. Even when I lost a couple, it was still a good game.

Then they switched dealers and the table slowed right down. Bets would close, then there’d be a pause, then cards, then another pause. The chat went quiet too. The new dealer wasn’t doing anything wrong, it just killed the vibe!

I went from down about 60 to up 95 with the first dealer, betting 10 or 15 most hands and one 25 hand. After the switch I gave almost all of it back in maybe 18 minutes. Same table, same shoe, same bets.

I know I can’t start thinking I’m reading a dealer, that’s how ego gets you. But the pace does change how I play.

Am I overreacting if I leave after a dealer swap when the whole table flow changes?

Do I put too much weight on table rhythm in live dealer, or do other people leave when the replacement dealer slows everything down?

When a table drags like that I just start clicking through hands, not even thinking. Cards stop mattering. That's when I know to walk.

I’d leave if the pauses were getting annoying. Happened to me at $10 a hand. I couldn’t keep my focus (not saying the shoe changed or anything).

The focus thing is real, i've changed my bets just to make a slow table less boring without even realizing it. Rhythm hits everyone different but it gets under my skin when the new dealer drags

The shoe doesn’t change with the dealer, but my patience does. When things drag I get less comfortable sitting there, so leaving after the swap seems reasonable (not because the cards are due to turn).

nah i dont think thats overreacting, if the pace gets slow and its less enjoyable you can leave.

the rhythm changes how comfortable you feel, even if it doesnt change the odds or the shoe, i get that the table feels different after a dealer swap
