Why are bonus terms always a whole novel?

I keep seeing a $100 match bonus with 35x wagering, a $5 max bet, half the slots excluded, then a max cashout tucked three pages into the terms. I nearly missed that bit the first time I read one. By the end, I’m wondering how much of the bonus is usable.

Should I pass on most bonuses unless the playthrough looks reasonable up front? I try to be patient with promos, but that’s a lot of rules for a small offer.

If you read the terms, what do you check first? I look for the max bet and cashout, but I’m not sure what else is easy to miss. TIA

That 35x is where I look first - bonus-only or deposit plus bonus? On $100 it can mean $3,500 or $7,000 real playthrough. Game weighting can muck it up further.

The $5 max bet is the next line I check after the wagering basis. Some casinos can void the bonus for going over it, and a misclick is an expensive way to find that out.

Misclick voids it, yeah, seen that.

Nobody checks the excluded list, that's the killer

the cashout cap is the only number that matters everything else is noise half these bonuses are unusable if you actually read them

Expiry and game contribution are the two things that decide it for me. I accepted one promo and only a few sessions in noticed my usual game didn’t count toward the wagering at all. Seven days to clear 35x on a $5 max bet doesn’t leave much room either. Now I check the expiry and whether my games count before opting in.

That’s where the usable part of the offer starts showing.

$5 max bet kills more than expiry

A week to clear 35x is tight if your usual games barely count, so expiry and contribution are easy to miss. I check the cashout cap too.

Clearing the wagering doesn’t mean you get to keep the full win.

First dumb thing: it's a whole novel because that's the point, lol. Nobody reads three pages, that's how the max cashout sneaks past you.
