I feel like RTP doesn’t mean anything… am I wrong?
RTP is always advertised like it’s the gospel, but lately I’ve been questioning if it actually has any practical meaning session to session. I get that over a million spins the RTP should be close to what’s claimed, but no one’s actually playing that long. I was grinding some crypto slots with 96% RTP listed and had a huge cold streak that wiped out my bankroll way faster than any “expected return.” I track my sessions with a spreadsheet, so I know I’m not just imagining things.
Even with live dealer games, like blackjack or roulette, the house edge seems more consistent, but slots just eat up the balance randomly, even when the numbers look decent. Is RTP just a way for casinos to sound fair while variance does all the dirty work? I get that it’s supposed to be a long-term thing, but if actual results are always so far off, it’s tough to see why people care. Just wondering how others look at this or if I’m missing something on the math or the practical side.
