Back to Poker

why do some poker sites have completely different game quality.

It blows my mind how much the vibe changes from one poker site to another. On some places, I swear it feels like half the table is just bumhunting or checking charts on the side, and then you move somewhere else and you’ve got wild maniacs going all-in with anything. Table talk is different too, sometimes there’s banter, sometimes just silence or bots.

I try to stick to sites where the games feel natural and not full of sharks, but it’s getting harder to tell which ones are the best for more recreational play. Looking for some feedback from others.

First thing i'd ask: what stakes in poker? Micros are a different species 🙂

Micros are always a weird little petri dish. Blackjack micros feel worse

Maybe, but stakes arent even my first look. I look at promos and rakeback junk first, those shape whos hanging around more than the software. Same as sports betting, boosts bring in civilians, grinder candy brings the spreadsheet guys 🙂

Same idea with blackjack too, but table speed matters more

It’s usually rake plus who the site is attracting, and that’s the whole trick. I played the same stakes on two rooms last winter and one felt like a spreadsheet convention while the other had three guys punting stacks in twenty minutes. If the games feel dead, they probably are.
