MTT variance brutal

man, i’m feeling this one lately. dropped into a few small field tourneys this week and the up-and-down swings are actually driving me nuts. got it in good more than once, watching two-outers hit over and over. i keep telling myself it’s normal but the bankroll graph is a straight-up rollercoaster. weird thing is, in blackjack at least the pain is quick and you’re onto the next hand, but the time sink in tourneys stings more when you bust with a flip after three hours.

thinking maybe i’m not adjusting enough or maybe i’m just taking the beats a bit too personally. you’d think after all the blackjack swings i’d be numb but nope. i see some folks saying the variance gets even nastier the deeper you go, which feels about right. anyone else ride out long mtt downswings and keep their sanity?

Yeah lol that's why I dip to roulette sometimes, quick pain. I punted 4 hours UTG once and just went to bed mad.

Yeah, everybody does!!! MTTs are just hours of folding, one flip, then trash, tighten early position and quit marrying results

"hours of folding" is why i get salty with mtts. live dealer perfect pairs eats money fast too, but at least it wastes less of my night 😌
