ICM punt or standard?

Middle tourney spot, 9 left, I’ve got a just-below-average stack and I’m in the cutoff. Folds to me. Table’s been tight since the FT bubble popped and payouts are steep now. I’m holding a hand that’s a marginal shove but not an autopilot spot. Chip leader sits in the small blind and covers everybody. I know ICM pressure is huge, but I also don’t want to get blinded down waiting for the perfect spot that never comes.

In blackjack or even roulette I’d say risk it if your edge is clear, but in poker ICM turns everything upside down. Do you guys lean conservative here, or trust your read and punt when everyone’s tightening up? What’s your cutoff for ICM punts in these FT situations?

yeah i'm with the tighter side here, cutoff or not, when the chip leader's in the small blind and everybody got weird after the bubble in these online casino mtts, i just fold the cute marginal shove lol. not punting into icm because blinds feel annoying, i've done that, felt dumb real real fast

Yesss, same. In that cutoff spot I fold the marginal junk and wait. Slots taught me 96% RTP still bleeds you dry.
