How tight do you play early in tournaments?

I’ve been folding a lot early in MTTs unless I have a clear edge, often through the first 3 levels at 100bb deep. What is your cutoff for opening hands when stacks are full? I don’t want to get stacked with a marginal hand.

Anyone else stay tight until antes kick in, or take small edges right away if the table looks weak? thanks

Edit: asking about regular speed events, not turbos.

Antes change it, before that nobody's folding to your raises at 100bb anyway. Folding three levels is fine.

Tight early is fine, but the cutoff seat isn't the same as UTG.

i'm fairly selective early too but i don't sit on my hands waiting for antes if i'm in position and the table's passive. once opened a suited connector in the first level and just took it down with a small cbet, barely risked anything.

Antes are when it actually matters.

Small cbet, like a third pot? That never takes it down where i play.

i’m patient early, but i still open playable hands in position before antes. offsuit hands can turn into a headache at 100bb, so i’d rather stick with suited connectors and pocket pairs.
