ICM trainer worth it?

I’ve been grinding mid-stakes MTTs for a while, and honestly, the ICM spots keep throwing me for a loop - especially at final tables or satellite bubbles. I play pretty tight when big pay jumps are in play but I keep second guessing my shoves and folds after looking back at some hands. It’s like I get the idea behind ICM but when the pressure’s on, it’s just hard to translate theory into real decisions.

Thinking about dropping some cash on an ICM trainer, but there’s so much hype around them, I’m not sure if it’s actually going to fix those leaks or if it’s just another study tool that doesn’t really move the needle. Has anyone seen legit improvements in results after using one? Also wondering if the time investment is justified or if working through hand histories with friends does the job just as well. Would be good to hear if disciplined work with one of these actually changes the way you approach endgame decisions.

nah, people hype these like a magic fix and that bugs me. if you’re locking up at pay jumps, that’s not some slots button problem, it’s stack fear and bankroll pressure!!! i got more from cleaning that up than clicking sims all night

Bankroll pressure is the real leak, yeah, but reps matter too. I hated paying for one lol and it still cleaned up my final table punts fast

Nah, friends reviewing hands is way too soft lol. Trainer reps fixed my bubble punts way faster than talk did.

Mid-stakes mtts is where i screwed up too, thought i just needed volume. Nah, a trainer helped more than sweating hand histories with buddies
