Why do I always convince myself they’re bluffing
I swear, every time someone bets big into me on the river, my brain just screams “they’re full of it!” and I start imagining this heroic call that’s gonna be talked about for ages at the table, even when I’m holding complete garbage. It’s like I forget all those sessions where they actually had the nuts and my stack did a disappearing act. Something about seeing those chips slide in, I convince myself it must be a move and not just, you know, a monster hand.
I try to talk myself out of it and look for the actual odds, but I get sucked right back into thinking every player is out here pulling bluffs left and right. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking, wanting to catch someone in the act for once instead of folding to aggression. Anyone else run into this and figure out how to snap out of it before you torch another buy-in?
