Sit & Go tournaments deserve more love

I think sit & gos deserve more attention because I like the clear structure and having the same kinds of spots come up to study. I mean the 6-man and 9-man games, not jackpot SNGs (those are a different format). At $3 to $15, I’m not sure how the traffic is these days. Do they still fill quickly at those buy-ins? Is this format beatable long term without grinding 12 tables at once

Filling at $3 depends entirely on what time you log on.

i think they're still beatable without running a ton of tables, but rake eats your margin so the small leaks you figure are fine from seeing the same spots over and over aren't really.

i played 4 at a time and made cleaner late game decisions than when i added more, not sure that number works for everyone

Sit and gos don't deserve the love. The rake at $3-$15 is why nobody plays them.

nah its turbos that killed em, nobody wants to sit an hour for $4

Slow ones are where I actually learn. Blinds doubling every 6 min is just coinflips.

slow is a snooze

Wish I had the patience.

Evenings they still fill, it's daytime that's dead. Turbos just get the blame.

Turbos are the only ones worth grinding at those stakes.

the repeated spots are the useful part, seeing the same cutoff shove spots makes it easier to study where the folds are. traffic’s been uneven when i’ve played, had a session where i was waiting between games and went back through hands. i think you can make it work without 12 tables, but rake and how often they fill matters a lot, and i’m not sure how active those pools are now. are you looking at regular speed or the faster ones?

Rake takes a real bite at $3-$15. Two or three tables is enough to watch push-fold ranges and review close spots. As a rough yardstick, 5% roi over 500 games says more than a hot week (still a small sample). Fill speed depends on site and hour. Check the lobby a few times.
