Roulette street bets: does anyone actually play these or just simulation?

so at work the other day i overheard a couple of regulars talking about betting streets on roulette, which got me thinking - does anyone here actually use street bets seriously or is that just something you hear about in tutorials and demo spins? i’ve dealt cards and called spins plenty, but i almost never see street action when i’m at a live table. maybe once or twice, and even then, it’s usually someone just tossing chips around trying their luck instead of having any real plan.

i get the odds, not too wild compared to straight up numbers or splits, but it doesn’t really feel like you get enough coverage or the payout to make it worth sticking to over time. are there folks here who have run actual sessions focusing on streets and had solid results, or is it mainly just for testing or play money games? just curious, because it seems like even the people who talk it up switch over to outside bets or bigger groupings after a few spins. anybody here grind streets or is it mostly for show?

treating street bets as core strategy is rough on your bankroll, but i ran one week tracking only streets in live roulette out of stubborn curiosity - never hit profit, just a lot of “tuition” to show for it. ever see anyone parlay two street hits?

i only street bet if i'm chasing a weird pattern in diamond roulette, but i always cap my losses tight. variance is rough there, even for a stats nerd.

Back when I logged some hours on ruby roulette, I saw a few wildcards try to string together street bets as if it was some kind of roulette version of exotic props in sports betting. Always flashy for a spin or two, but most bailed once variance bit back. If you like action, streets have a rush, but no session regulars I know lean on them for actual ROI.

Seen exactly what you’re talking about. Most serious grinders stick to outside bets or mix in streets as flavor but never make it their core approach. I only ever saw one dude run a full session on streets at an elite roulette promo table and he bounced after a short streak. Streets look good on paper but they eat your bankroll faster than you’d expect since you’re splitting the risk but not really stretching your coverage. Better to treat them as quick side bets for a change of pace if you want a thrill, not a mainline strategy.
