finales bets confusing

Been seeing people talk about using finales bets to "cover a streak" or whatever, but the explanations always sound fuzzy. Like, I get that it's grouping numbers by their ending digits, but I can't wrap my head around how that actually gives you an edge or what situations make sense for using them. Is it about tracking hot numbers, or just spreading your risk in a more "fun" way?

I’ve mainly played straight bets or splits because it just feels more straightforward and easier to keep up with, especially at a real table. Saw a guy once run all the finales 3s for a whole shoe and he hit big once, but mostly looked like he was lighting chips on fire. It almost seems like a way to chase patterns, but does anyone here actually profit long-term using finales, or is it just to spice up a boring session? Am I missing a trick with these or is it mostly just gambler’s superstition?
