ball dropped same pocket twice and i still somehow missed both times

Saw this for the first time last night - same pocket, back to back spins, both times I had the number covered but missed the bet by a split or a corner chip each time. Couldn’t believe it. Even the dealer did a double take like, that doesn’t happen every day. I’ve seen weird streaks before but not this, made me wonder if I’m spreading the chips too thin or just getting too clever for my own good.

I know people say stick with your system and don't chase, but it’s hard to stay calm when your main numbers hit and you still don’t get paid. Kind of makes you question all that effort you put into careful bet placement. Anyone else ever have nights where it feels like the table is just rubbing it in? I’m staying chill though - figure calm consistency pays off over time, or at least keeps you from tilting.
