American zero pain?

Anyone here mess with American wheels and actually get a run going? I always stick to European whenever I can but lately the local spot only has double zero tables open most of the time. My numbers are just eating dust with that house edge. Tried some short sessions but can’t shake the feeling I’m just lighting my bankroll on fire. I get that variance is part of it, but I’m curious if anyone found any practical differences or tips between the two layouts beyond just “play Euro if possible.”
