do bonus buys ever actually pay off or just burn money faster

Seen a lot of folks hyping up bonus buys lately, like they're some kind of shortcut to the big wins. From what I can tell, it mostly just speeds things up. You're still at the mercy of the slot's math, just going through cycles quicker, bankroll rising and falling in turbo mode. The illusion of control kinda gets to me. I've hit a few decent bonuses but, in the long run, those buys usually bleed my balance faster than spinning the regular way.

Does anyone here actually keep track? I respect variance, I know you can get smacked or lucky at any time. But is there anyone making a spreadsheet or logging bonus buys to really see if the juice is worth the squeeze long-term? I can't shake the feeling it's mostly paying for the entertainment, not profit. Anyone running numbers on this or got their own sample?

I track every bonus buy in a spreadsheet and yep, the variance is wild but the average RTP matches the slot’s info page over time. If you want steady sessions, regular spins bleed slower and feel less brutal.

agree and it’s wild how fast you lose sight of your session budget with bonus buys in online casinos, like a soccer match where you keep betting corners after each whistle, pretty soon you’re chasing not playing your line up anymore

my spreadsheet for sweet bonanza buys lasted three sessions before i rage quit, way easier to track loss limits on regular spins but the adrenaline spike from buys is its own trap
