live basketball total changed while my bet was pending and support says normal delay

was firing on a live nba game, total was at 228.5, clicked submit and it spins forever, then flashes a new line at 231.5 with my bet at that number. contacted support, got the canned answer about "normal delay" but seems like it just flipped when the odds moved and left me with a worse number. doesn't this defeat the whole point of beating the line live if they just bump you to wherever it moved? anyone else see this a lot, or is it just me?
