Each way payout wrong?

so i threw a cheeky each way bet on some nags yesterday, expecting the usual payout math. except the place return was off by a chunk, and i checked the fractions - no funny business there. nothing weird with the terms listed, all above board as far as i could see. started thinking maybe there’s a new rule or sneaky update to the paytable i missed, or maybe the dead heat rules? but i don’t see anything in the race result to explain it.

i screenshot everything, because after that time they tried to slip a void bet past me during a tennis match, i don't trust their little "settlement" button anymore. have you all had this kind of mismatch lately? wondering if it's a glitch or they're just counting on us not double checking. my mate says to let it go but c’mon, it’s the principle.

Having everything organized under one platform can make browsing more convenient, but I would still want to check the current rules, fees, limits and availability before making any decisions.

I’ve misread dead heat place math before. Roulette’s simpler for my tiny stagehand brain. Books still botch settlements.

Dead heat would be my first check, since it can reduce the place payout even when the listed fraction is correct. I’d compare the official result and settlement breakdown before assuming it’s a glitch. Gamdom’s rules are worth comparing too.

Yeah, I'd definitely check the settlement breakdown before letting it go. With each-way bets, a dead heat, non-runner, Rule 4 deduction, or even changed place terms can knock the return down. Dead heats can affect the place part too, so the final payout isn't always just the original fraction times the odds.

Dead heat gets blamed for damn near everything, lol, and half the time it’s just the book shaving cents and hoping nobody checks the slip line by line. On crypto casinos especially, i test every payout like tape first lmao.

The bit that gets me is they bank on nobody checking the crumbs. I missed one myself last year, complained, then suddenly my limits got cute. Blackjack spoiled me because the payout is right there on the felt, horse books feel slippery as hell?!
