can you actually teach blackjack basic strategy to casino staff
so i was at a local spot last week, and i swear the dealer gave away basic strategy plays out loud after every missed hit or stand. got me thinking - is it possible to actually train staff at these places to follow basic strategy perfectly? or would they just mix it up with dealer rules, or mess up the logic once stuff gets busy? not talking about those “house way” rules they give out, more like what we all memorize when we want to cut the edge down.
i figure you could probably teach them the chart, maybe even get some to talk through it, but how many dealers do you think would nail it every time under real table pressure? or do they forget like everyone else when cash is on the line and the shoes get hot? seems like if staff actually internalized all the basic moves, they’d see how close players get to even with perfect play and maybe change the way they deal with regulars. curious if anyone ever saw dealers who actually got it all right.
