Blackjack basic strategy: does anyone actually follow it or just wing it?

Never seen a table where everyone is actually following the chart. Half the time I’m next to some wild card hitting on a soft 18 or splitting tens like it’s nothing. I’ve memorized most of basic, but every now and then I’ll just go with the gut if I’m bored or chasing back-to-back dealer busts.

Feels like most folks in live dealer just vibe their way through and hope for the best. I get sticking to the numbers, but man, sometimes you gotta mix it up or the game feels way too robotic.
