casino says my blackjack wagering didnt count because i used side bets too much.

Put in a solid blackjack session for a bonus and now the casino is saying my side bet action ruined everything. Apparently the fine print says if you do too many side bets, the wagering doesn’t count toward the requirements? They told me the main game bets would count but because most of my chips were split between the main hand and side bets, I’m out of luck. I thought it was all going to the same pot in terms of volume.

I get that they want people to follow rules, but how is it fair if I was still playing legit blackjack? I barely touched the 21+3 and perfect pairs stuff anyway. Makes me paranoid to trust any promo after this, but wondering if anyone else had the same problem or found a way around it next time. This sort of thing makes it tough to want to play for the long run.
