Back to Blackjack

I’m done taking insurance. Seriously.

Every time I’m sitting at a blackjack table and that insurance option pops up, I end up arguing with myself whether I should just take it this once. I always hear dealers trying to push it and a lot of players act like it’s the smart play, but honestly, I’ve tracked my hands and it just burns my stack in the long run. My stats aren’t perfect but I’m done lighting chips on fire hoping for that tiny win-back on a dealer blackjack.

Anyone actually think insurance is worth it, or are people just in love with the idea of “playing it safe”? I just don’t see the point. I get that some folks like the little security blanket but it seems more like a house edge trap to me. Curious if I’m missing something everyone else swears by.

Insurance is stand-up robbery

yeah, for most blackjack players insurance is usually a bad side bet because the house edge is high unless you’re specifically counting cards. the “safety” feeling can definitely make it seem better than it actually is.
