cashback excluded free bet losses

so i was looking at a cashback promo and the rules got me overthinking again. they say your free bet losses don't count towards cashback. so like, if you use a free bet token and lose, that loss isn't getting you any money back in the cashback offer. same thing if you go on a cold streak burning free spins - they ignore it. makes sense from their side, but feels weird because you're taking risk anyway. steve wonders why promo terms always sneak in these little traps.

from a stats angle, it kinda messes with your real expected value on the deal. if you're playing a lot of roulette or slots, and you're burning through those free bets trying to trigger other offers, it cuts down your overall edge. not saying cashback is pointless, but the details on what's excluded can be a pain if you're trying to play sharp.
