dealer always pulls 8

Been getting annihilated at live blackjack this week and swear the dealer’s got some magnet for 8s. I’ll sit with a nice hand, thinking I’m golden, then boom, dealer flips that second card and it’s always the magic 8. Next thing you know, they’re making that classic 18, 19, or worse, a 21 out of thin air, like they’ve been coached by Houdini. My green chips feel allergic to my stack at this point.

I know blackjack’s about the swings but it feels like this 8 situation is cosmic punishment or the shuffler’s got it in for me. Anyone else feel like certain dealers just lean into specific cards, or is it just my imagination being fueled by too much instant coffee and a bad losing streak? What do you do to reset your brain when it feels like the cards just won’t bend your way?
