best poker for grinders who want consistent income

I always hear folks say the best way to grind out a consistent poker income is to stick to cash games, low stakes no-limit hold'em mostly. The argument is you can control your swings a bit more than in tournaments, avoid the crazy variance, and rack up small but steady wins. Makes sense in theory but then I look around and see the tables getting tougher, regs everywhere, and most folks seem to be breaking even or worse. Not to mention the endless hours and tilt risk.

On the other hand, sit and gos used to be a big thing for grinders. People say they’re "solved" now or just not worth the time with the small prize pools. Some claim PLO cash is juicier, but I just picture bankrolls going up in flames when variance hits. I’ve mostly stuck to slots and live dealer games since at least you know your house edge and can label risk clearly, but poker always seemed murkier for steady profit. Curious what the real grinders here have seen lately with consistency.

Yeah, cash still beats tourney swings, annoyingly. On crypto casinos are you grinding NLHE or PLO, and are rakeback and cashout speed carrying the pot?
