best poker cash games for grinding profit instead of variance swings.

Lately I’ve been bouncing between online cash games trying to actually build up something steady, not just have wild up and down weeks. Tournaments and those flashy high-variance games are cool for a rush, but most of my roll just evaporates in swings I can’t control. I’m way more interested in games where the strategy is more about long-term grinding profit, less about getting lucky with a coinflip shove.

Most of what I hear is stick to regular six-max or full ring with lower stakes, but every site has its quirks and the table texture can change a ton even at the same blind levels. Some places the players are tighter than my grandma, others everyone’s trying to hero bluff every hand. I’m also seeing stuff like short stack tables and deepstack cash, and not sure which ones actually allow for decent, repeatable wins or just another form of variance madness.

For those who’ve actually been able to grind a little profit consistently, what kinds of cash games have worked out for you, and how did you avoid just running into variance over and over?

Switch up your focus to bankroll discipline over table type, since even pontoon players grind out tiny wins by quitting when they're a chip ahead. Ever track your sessions by time instead of cash won?

Stick to six-max microstakes for steady edges, but avoid tables where everyone limps every flop unless you love chaos. Chasing consistency is the move, not glory hands.
