river always kills me

Running so bad lately, it’s always the river that crushes me. Feels like I’m making decent reads, going in ahead most times, but the last card just never holds. It’s making me question if I’m playing it too safe or missing value by not protecting enough. Saw this pattern both live and online, which is weird - makes me wonder if it’s just variance or if I’m giving off timing tells. Anyone else getting this brutal run lately, or am I missing something in my strategy?
