rivered by runner runner

Sitting on the turn with top two, villain has a short stack left, and I make the classic bet for value. He snap shoves, so I call it off, pretty much knowing I’m ahead unless he turned the straight. River comes, of course, runner-runner flush hits and he tables the suited junk. This is about the fourth time this week someone’s gotten there on me like that. Don’t think I’m tilting, just noticing the pattern lately.

I keep wondering if it’s my sizing on the turn, like maybe I’m leaving too much for him to chase with those backdoor draws, or if it’s just one of those classic unlucky stretches. I try not to get results-oriented but running into these rivers back-to-back, it starts making me question the line. I know it happens, but damn it stings.

if this is online casinos, i really think the short stack part matters more than your turn size. those guys jam any two suited cards way more than live, then rebuy before the showdown tab even closes, i've watched that exact junk get tabled all week too

"fourth time this week" is the bit doing the damage. Slots brain loves a pattern where there’s just a rude little cluster.

I did this with Roulette once, thought the wheel was talking, really I was just playing too many hands fast.
