why do some casinos have tighter roulette wheels

Noticed lately that some of the roulette wheels at local places seem way tighter than others. I'm not talking about the layout or the vibe, but the way the ball seems to hit certain numbers over and over, almost clumping. Used to think it was all random, but I'm starting to doubt that now. Maybe I'm paranoid from years of blackjack card counting, but it sure feels different when you play at different places.

Curious if anybody else tracks spins or looks for patterns when picking a wheel. Some guys I know say it’s just variance, but it can't just be bad luck every time, right? Trying to figure out if casinos keep the wheels a little off-balance or if I’m seeing ghosts.

casino maintenance is my tell here. some places stay on top of wheel upkeep, others let small wear stack up. it isn’t usually as dramatic as rigged, but enough that balls bounce with less energy, favoring certain pockets. like slot reels that start sticking a bit, it’s just physics aging, not ghosts. i started avoiding tired wheels after seeing one always hit within three numbers of the last drop for a whole session. not proof, but enough for me to switch tables when the pattern feels off.

Anytime I start thinking a wheel’s rigged, I remember the way streaks show up in slots too - bunch of reds in a row, weird clusters. Most clumping is just ugly variance at work, but I do jot spin results at new places for peace of mind. Haven’t caught a hot number glitch yet.
