column bet curse

Every time I try column bets, it feels like I’m jinxed. I’ll go stretches where they never hit, then as soon as I switch to another bet, the column hits right after. I know it’s just probability, but the timing gets me every single time. The temptation is always there because the payout is decent and you cover a good chunk of the board. But after a bunch of dead spins it really drains the bankroll.

I get that columns are a popular “safer” move compared to single numbers, and some people swear by just riding a column until it hits. Personally, I don’t see any long-term edge but I keep circling back to try it. Curious if anyone’s actually tracked their results over a ton of spins doing just columns or mixing columns with outside bets? Is there a way to prioritize columns over other strategies or am I just falling for gambler’s fallacy again?

Nah, "safer" is the part that bugs me. Column bets in roulette feel like poker guys calling any suited hand premium.
