Megaways still worth playing?

Lately I’ve been on a bit of a slot kick again after mostly sticking to blackjack and the occasional football parlay. Megaways keeps popping up everywhere I look, especially with new releases. I get that it’s supposed to offer more ways to win, but honestly, half the time it just feels like a lot of flash and noise and I end up with small change. Haven’t hit anything close to a satisfying bonus in ages and the base games seem to eat balance way faster than the old classics.

Is anyone actually making long-term profit from Megaways, or is it just another high-volatility trap? I’ve read all about “potential” and “max win,” but that’s never seemed like a solid plan to me compared to card games where you can grind out an edge, even if it’s small.
