gates of olympus paid different than the paytable showed or maybe im reading it wrong

Had the strangest thing just now playing Gates of Olympus. Hit a line I swear should've paid more according to the paytable but the credits didn't match up at all. I checked like three times, counting up the symbols and everything. Not sure if I missed something with multipliers or maybe it's only certain combos that count for the higher pays? It wasn't a free spin round or anything weird, just the base game.

Honestly, I try to keep things simple and stick to the numbers, but when the numbers look off I get a bit paranoid. I know there's always weird little slot quirks, but have any of you seen payouts not match what the table shows, or maybe there's a trick to reading it I don’t know yet?

Paytable, usually

Base game on Gates is where the paytable starts feeling pre-owned. I had a hit with stacked symbols that looked clean, then realized the meter was paying off total bet after the tumble, not what my eye counted. Annoying little slot.

Nah, on Gates it's usually the tumble math, not the table. Crypto casinos make that meter lag look REAL cute too.

Yeah, this is the part that annoys me too: the tumble display on Gates is just muddy as dishwater. Paytable shows the symbol hit, then the screen starts stacking Zeus multipliers and it LOOKS like the base hit paid wrong when really it’s the tumble total being folded together badly. I had a 6x crown hit on a 40p spin show £5.76 and it took three replays to see why. Blackjack RNG at least keeps its nonsense in one lane. Here it’s just not clean.
