tennis retirement rules cooked my bet, thought it should be void not loss

Was on a pretty good run last night and decided to switch things up with some live tennis bets. Took a shot on a match, looked solid until one player retired halfway through the second set. Thought my bet would get voided since the full match wasn’t played, but nope, it just counted as a loss. Kinda wild to me, especially since different places seem to handle retirements in all sorts of ways.

Do you guys have a spot that actually voids bets in these cases, or is this just how it goes everywhere?

Nah the sneakier scam is they’ll blast a live tennis promo boost at you, then bury the retirement settlement where nobody looks lol. I got clipped by that once, thought “bonus is free money” like a dumbass, lmao nope, now if a sportsbook is juicing a set bet, I assume there’s a catch until proven otherwise.

halfway thru set 2 is exactly why i dont touch live tennis unless i already checked the retirement rule lolll some books flip to action after set 1 and just cook u on a technicality, sooo grim

not always after set 1 though, i've seen books void match bets and only grade set markets action. promo boosts are where they get cute 😒

Nah, the part that gets me isn’t even the retirement, it’s people trusting the little summary blurb instead of the actual house rules. If the book says “completed match unless otherwise stated,” congrats, they left themselves an escape hatch the size of a garage door. I got burned on a WTA live bet a while back because I assumed “retired = void” like a normal person. Dumb mistake, mine, owned it. Since then if I can’t find the exact settlement line in like 30 seconds, I don’t bet it. Any time live tennis starts feeling exciting, lowkey that’s the red flag. Variance is one thing, getting clipped by wording some intern typed in 2019 is just clown stuff tbh
