fanduel graded tennis set handicap wrong after retirement rule kicked in.

Had a weird one last night with the tennis set handicap markets. Placed a bet where the dog only needed to grab a set, but the match ended after a retirement. I was under the impression most books void these when the retirement rule applies and the full set isn’t completed. This time, the bet got graded as a loss, and it’s throwing me off. I double-checked the rules page and it just left me more confused.

Anyone else run into this with tennis bets? Feels like the grading is inconsistent between different matches or maybe I’m missing some nuance in the way these set handicaps get settled when retirements happen. What’s your experience with how these should be handled?

Tennis retirement rules are one of those things I always check before betting now. Different books can have completely different settlement rules depending on the exact market.

"exact market" is the annoying part lol, roulette tables got cleaner rules than this mess lmao

Yeah i think people jump to “retirement = void” way too fast. If your dog still hadn’t actually covered when it stopped, books will hang the loss, same way they’ll settle some slots promos off the state at trigger, not the vibe of what was about to happen, that part’s not inconsistent to me

That’s the trick, they grade the snapshot, not the funeral. Same kind of nonsense as blackjack side bets paying off one tiny condition and ignoring the rest.

Yeah, that’s the dumb little distinction: match retirement rules don’t always carry over to set handicap markets. Annoys me soooo bad too

What gets me is people calling it “nuance” lol, nah, half the time it’s just sloppy book ops. I’ve had a tennis ticket settled one way, then support cite a totally different rules page version after the fact, real Casino & Sportsbook Reviews clown shoes stuff, and that sure ain’t “consistent.”

Yeah thats the bit that annoys me, not the loss, the settlement text. Even crypto casinos usually spell this junk out better. Did your ticket say one full set had to be completed anywhere in the bet slip?
