Small singles > massive parlays

Can you really get anywhere just grinding small singles, or are people only saying that after a bad parlay run? I’m at the point where the big multi looks great on the slip and then one leg ruins it again.

I’m not asking about bankroll charts and all that. I just want to know what people here are doing in real life. Is it worth cutting out parlays almost completely and sticking to straight bets if you want something that holds up over time.

I’m leaning that way now because the massive parlays are fun right up until the last leg does what it always does
