Perfect pairs variance?

Been logging my blackjack sessions, focusing on perfect pairs side bets just to see how wild the swings get. It’s clear the variance is up there, but I can’t get a solid grip on what to actually expect over like a thousand hands. Sometimes I hit nothing for an hour, other times the payouts come in clumps and it feels like free money, which I know isn’t true.

Anyone here track their results long-term? Curious how your swings look and if you tweak your bet sizes to account for the variance or just accept it as the price of chasing those big payouts?

Yeah and the nastiest part isn’t even the swing chart, it’s what it does to your head. Perfect pairs blackjack turns decent blackjack players into poker-tilt zombies real fast, main hand wins, side bet bricks, and somehow you still feel stuck because your brain was waiting on the cute pair payout all shoe. I logged about 800 live hands on sticky notes like an idiot, the real leak was always the same, one near miss and my bet size started creeping. That’s where it gets expensive haha no thanks

Broooo the part that gets me is hands per hour, not the math porn lol. Perfect Pairs on infinite blackjack chews bankroll waaay faster just from volume, so my rule was side bet = 1/10 of main bet max or it started lighting cash on fire lmao. I’m salty cuz every time I “kept it tiny” that’s when the stupid pair landed. You logging live shoes separate from RNG/infinite, or mashing it all into one spreadsheet like a maniac.
