draftkings no sweat bet returned less than my stake somehow.

Used one of those no sweat bonus bets for a late night baseball parlay - nothing fancy, just a regular 3-leg. Lost obviously, but when the site returned the stake as a bonus bet, it was actually lower than what I put in. I staked 25 but got a 20 bonus back. Don’t remember any rules saying it’d be docked for anything, or maybe I missed some fine print.

Not that I usually mess with these much since blackjack’s my thing, but kind of odd. Do these promos sometimes scale down the returns based on the odds or the sport? Or maybe I triggered some sneaky clause. Usually respect the variance and let it ride, but stuff like this makes me want to triple check every promo now. Anyone else run into something like this or am I just that lucky?

yeah, this smells less like odds/sport and more like dk doing that cute little "up to $20" cap while happily letting you fire $25 anyway. they tuck that part in the promo tile or the opt-in page, same cheesy energy as slots offers where the big number is neon and the actual limit is hiding in the cereal aisle font. i’ve seen it with baseball promos especially when they’re stacking ten versions of the same no sweat. not scaled by weather or sport, just capped and worded like garbage. boring, but that’s usually the trick.

$25 is the part that stings me, damn. I’d be salty too if they let the full stake in, then remembered the promo cap after the funeral.

not even a baseball thing first, honestly. but yeah dk does weird account-bucket promo crap, same as online casinos, i’ve had the same offer show a different cap on two phones lol

Yeah, the only part I'd check is this: did DK return it as four $5 bonus chunks, or did the settled promo line literally say $20 on a $25 stake? I’ve seen books hard-code these in fixed denominations like roulette side junk, and your bankroll optionality just gets shaved there.

nah this is usually a buried max bonus cap or some stupid cash bonus split on the ticket not "odds scaling" ive had online casinos pull the same cute nonsense where 25 in the headline turns into 20 back after the clickthrough terms REAL fast if the bet slip touched anything promo-tagged

It’s not always some buried cap, that part gets blamed for everything. I mostly play poker now, but I had DK kick back $20 on a $25 promo after a baseball leg got fiddled with in grading and support acted like the adjusted stake was obvious from the start, which it plainly wasn’t.
