why does every new slot need 5000 features now

seems like every time a new slot drops it’s got to have 5+ bonus rounds, wilds that grow, random multipliers, mystery symbols, and some side quest thing tacked on. not saying i’m against features, but it kinda feels like nobody trusts basic gameplay anymore. half the time i just want to spin, not keep track of ten different mini-games at once or need a cheat sheet for the paytable. maybe i’m just getting old and grumpy, but simple fruit slots from back in the day at least made sense.

maybe i’m missing something and this really is what folks want now? or do you guys think this is just a way to cover up that a lot of these new games don’t pay as well and just use the features to distract us? anyone actually like all this extra stuff, or would you rather see more straight-up, easy to follow slots?

Not really. Features arent proof it pays worse, RTP is math and the random number generator doesnt care how much junk is flying around on screen. Its more retention crap, esp on mobile slots. If I want decisions I play blackjack lol

Oh i’m with you. Half these video slots feel like somebody emptied a junk drawer into the reels and called it innovation lolll. I don’t think it’s just “what people want,” i think it’s what keeps people poking around longer because now you’re waiting on the next little thing to unlock. I’d rather have clean fruit slots or just go sit in live dealer where at least i can see what’s happening without five sticky-note levels of instructions. Simple is better. Boring? Fine. Clearer. Safer on the bankroll toooo
