got sat with same 3 regs in fast fold for hours, normal traffic or weird matching

Spent the last three hours on fast fold and no matter how many times I hit next hand, I’m almost always sat with the exact same three regulars. Got me double-checking if I’d accidentally signed up for a private club or something. Was watching the player list and it's not like the pool was empty, there were at least 20+ sitting in, but I kept getting plopped in with these guys like clockwork. Not complaining too hard, since I have a pretty good read on their plays by now, but the odds feel a bit off.

I’m wondering if the seat distribution algorithms in these fast fold pools are actually random, or if there’s something behind the scenes like grouping people by play speed or recent history to reduce downtime. Can't tell if I should use it to my advantage or be mildly paranoid about the shuffle. Anyone else notice these weird matching patterns, or am I just due for a tinfoil hat fitting?

Yeah, normal enough. Fast pools get sticky with the same grinders, same as roulette heads camping one wheel for hours

Not even a roulette thing to me, my first dumb reaction is the matcher got lazy and found a groove. Still, yeah, once i see the same names for hours i quit treating it like a crowd and start treating it like a little office i did not ask to work in.

Yeah, I’ve seen it, and my boring answer is the lobby count lies a little. “20+ sitting in” can mean a bunch of stuff that does not equal 20 people you can actually be matched with right now. Same stake filter, same blinds, same pool, same region rules, who’s actually dealt in and not just parked there, all that. Poker rooms love a nice fat number, public money has inertia, they let your brain do the rest. So no, not tinfoil, just one of those interesting spots where “traffic” and “usable traffic” are not the same thing. I’d use it, honestly, if I know the three guys I’m not asking questions, I’m printing notes

"20+" cracks me up, I had 18 "in" once and saw 4 at flop all night!!!

Fast fold pools get TINY. I'm salty when regs camp it

Yeah, I’ve seen that, and on rooms with janky clients it’s usually the software being cheap, not fate. NetBet did this same kind of crap on me after 2 disconnects in one hour, kept feeding me the same regs.

20+ in the pool isn't some huge number, man. Fast fold with the same 3 regs for hours, yeah, feels WEIRD, still not proof of anything.
