Neighbors bet confusion

I was playing roulette with a couple neighbors the other night and things got weird about shared bets. Somebody put a few chips on red and my other neighbor kind of nudged his chip into the pile, claiming half the action once the win hit. Nothing was agreed before and it turned into a whole argument over who gets what. I just kept my own chips separate to avoid the drama, but now they want “group” bets next time.

Does anyone here actually do group bets at the table with friends, or is that just a bad idea? How do you keep it fair and avoid these messy scenes, especially if things get heated?

Group bets on roulette are a pain, red especially brings out this exact nonsense. Keep chips separate, done.

I don’t do group roulette, not because of etiquette or whatever, because it turns into bookkeeping the second somebody loses twice in a row. That’s the part people forget. On red/black everybody’s relaxed when it hits, then on the dead spins suddenly one guy says he “already covered last one” and another guy swears he’s in for more than he is. I’ve seen this exact thing with even money bets, not even fancy neighbors stuff, just basic red and black and people still can’t remember who put what in after three spins and a drink. If they insist, one person holds the bankroll and calls every bet out loud before the ball drops, otherwise keep it solo. Way less drama, way less fake memory once the losses stack up a bit

Group bets are how neighbors become survey data. I tried it once on a Live Dealer layout with my sister and suddenly every chip had two owners...

Group bets are how you turn roulette into a neighbor dispute, imo. On crypto casinos or live dealer roulette, one wallet/player only.

Wallets dont fix the real rot here. The second that ball lands, every half-drunk neighbor remembers a different deal, and now youre litigating red in somebody's kitchen like its Monte Carlo roulette with a house rule nobody said out loud. I’ve seen the same nonsense when a table has la partage and one guy swears he “basically won half” on zero when he didnt even know the rule ten minutes earlier. So yeah, one wallet per player, sure, but mostly I just dont do shared roulette. Save the social part for poker where at least the arguing has a shape to it.

Maybe, but I don't do group roulette. If a chip wasn't in before no share, SAME with neighbors bets, keep stacks separate.
