Zero game question

so i was watching a live dealer roulette stream and someone kept hammering zero with heavy bets. like literally every spin, max bets on zero and splits near it. they got lucky a couple times but mostly just kept burning money. i get zero can be a sort of wild card and the payout is tempting, but that kind of tunnel vision doesn’t make sense to me. does anyone here actually have a long-term strat around just zero? or is it pure superstition with maybe a dash of gambler’s fallacy? i’m always looking for real prep and edge, not magic numbers or gut feelings, but maybe i’m missing some angle here. would like to hear what others think.
