best poker stakes for actually building a bankroll without grinding 8 hours.

Trying to find that sweet spot where you can actually grow a poker bankroll but don’t have to camp at the table all night. I’ve mostly done blackjack and sports bets, so I’m used to bigger swings and I don’t mind taking some heat, but poker feels like a different animal. Micro stakes are just full of maniacs and honestly I get more bored than anything, but moving up feels risky if you’re not putting in long hours. What stakes do you all find reasonable for building up a roll if you’re only playing a couple hours here and there? Is it better to start at the lowest limits and just grind through the nonsense, or is there a point where the action gets decent and you’re not wasting your time for pennies? I get that table selection matters, but is it mostly about volume or does moving up actually help?

Online casino bonus opt-out: why isn't this easier to find.

Tarcus3171 commented:

When they bury the opt-out, I always wonder if it’s to trip up new players or just lazy UI. With blackjack especially, the difference between bonus balance and withdrawable cash can get you if you aren’t paying attention. In my experience, unless the casino is running on an actual license (think MGA, UKGC), nobody’s forcing them to fix it. Once got caught at a place that switched their bonus policy mid-week, so I’m just in the habit now of screenshotting my balances before depositing. Feels extreme, but at least I know where I stand. Anyone else track their bonus balances outside the site?

Sports betting closing line value: does anyone actually calculate this

Tarcus3171 commented:

I only tracked closing line value during a crazy month where I bet way too many MLB sides and wanted proof I wasn’t just chasing hot tips. It was a pain. I get why serious pros live by it, but for most of us it’s about as fun as keeping count of blackjack shoes played. I’d say check it if you’re upping your unit size or testing a new method, but I wouldn’t bother every single bet. Anyone else here actually log it game by game?

Online casinos that let you set deposit limits that actually stick

Some of these sites say you can set your own deposit limits, but then after a week or two they just let you increase or remove them super easy. Not much point if you can just bump it up after you lose a few hands of blackjack and start chasing, right? I’ve been looking for casinos that actually hold you to your limit for more than 24 hours or make it a real hassle to change. Anyone had luck with one that truly enforces your own limit, or is this mostly just a checkbox for the regulators? Curious if there’s anywhere that actually takes it seriously.

anyone actually making money from sports betting consistently?

I bounce between blackjack and sports betting, and honestly, I’ve had decent streaks in both, but nothing that holds up all year. I feel like I get up for a month or two, then just gradually give it back. Tried the “smart” stuff too, like spreadsheets and tracking units, but unless I’m only betting favorites, I usually slide back to zero or just a hair above. Feels like the stories of people actually making a living off this are either half-lies or they have a massive bankroll and some wild self-control. Not saying it’s impossible, but in all my years messing with this stuff, I haven’t seen anyone in my circle who’s up consistently over a couple years. Wondering if I’m just missing something obvious.
