Dealer mistake ruling?

Last night at the table, the dealer totally miscounted the value on my hand and tried to pay me out on a bust. I started overthinking if I was missing something and nearly let it slide, but caught it after like two seconds of sweating. Pit boss fixed it right away but it made me realize how easy it is to mess up when your brain’s been counting chips and splitting tens for hours. Never trusted my own recall less.

Anyone here ever been on the receiving end of a dealer mistake that either cost or saved you? I feel like my ego always wants to believe I'm the sharpest one there, but I know that's exactly how I end up getting fleeced.

Yeah, dealer errors happen. In crypto live blackjack, was it the dealer or the pit reading the shoe wrong after a split, or you just cooked from variance?

the part i watch is never the dealer, it’s how the pit handles the correction. i’ve had a roulette dealer sweep one of my corner hits in with the losing chips because my color was buried under somebody else’s stack. boss looked once, checked the layout, paid it, done. that’s a decent room. when they start the little conference and act like you’re trying to pull bonus abuse on a $25 chip, i’m out. mistakes happen. the stall is the tell. did your pit boss fix it off memory, or did he have to call upstairs and make a production out of it?
